    HL is unique as it’s one of the few cities on the surface. Outside the cities, it’s largely a polluted wasteland in most places, with bandits, tribal, corporate mercs, leftover warbots still running off their programming to kill everything, and the occasional mutated animal that managed to survive
    There’s some small settlements, and some corporate outposts for research or mining, but otherwise it’s not a nice place out there

    off-world colonies:
    With the exception of HL, Nuevo Mezico, and Yrs, the majority of terran cities have taken to the skies, built on large platforms.
    In the previous 400 or so years, humanity had started reaching out to space, unfortunatly with the onset of the various wars, corporate rivalries, plauge, pollution, and manmade disaster, development in space exploration became stilted, so that, in the year 2482, mankind has still not left the solar system, spacecraft still operate with newtonian drives, and any and all speculation about life on other planets remains just speculation.
    Despite this, humanity has managed to spread throught the Sol system at the very least, to the point where just about all rocky bodies contain at least one colony, space stations orbit Jupiter and Venus, the corporations have put much interest in Mars and the Moon for mining (the moon especially useful for the gas, helium, a rare commodity these days). Piracy has largely moved into space, with cargo and merchant ships often requiring armed escourt fleets as they travel.
    As space travel is still newtonian in nature, going from Earth to Mars, for example, can often take weeks. the farther to the edge of our system, the longer. Some of the higher end air & space companies offer stasis pods, so you can sleep away most the trip. lower end ones at least offer an on-board bar.

    Lower levels of Hangars, I been going by, since HL used to be a prison, a large one, there might still be areas where automated security is active? like wandering guard bots, or automated turrets, making those sections of the city more dangerous?

    It seems like some automated turrets on the borders of the town still work, as do some outposts with low class AI’s still operative and with some guards which can be corrupted.
    I very much like the idea of wandering bots, we have to work on that!

    HL could start with a once-a-week RP event at a given Sim District location where the RP Leaders give a theme, some sort of skeletal outline, or hypothetical situation, where our RPers can integrate their role into and interact as they desire. This would allow us all to get a feel for one another’s characters in action, further fuel our Blog post material and get more used to the city itself.

    I guess an example would be something like: “The tension is rising in (city district name) where a certain band of smugglers have misplaced a crate of metal containers housing an unknown gas. One of the containers has been punctured, causing the gas to leak into the air. The gas causes (some kind of effect). Will you seek out the crate to steal the remaining containers for you own purposes? Will you warn nearby dwellers and attempt to get them to a safe distance? Will you seek out the smugglers and try to cut a ransom for returning their remaining cargo?

    *shrugz* I’m punching in the dark here, but I’m trying to think of a way to initiate an interactive scenario for all of us to participate in. How can this idea be further shaped? Anyone?

    Perhaps even Djehan (*winks in Djehan’s direction and smiles*) could create an temporary item just for that one-a-week event, giving RPers a ‘center of attention’ to base their live roleplay off of? *hee*.. (getting excited)

    Crimson Merchants extracted the bodies (along with taking all the weapons crates and sensible data onboard). Utopia station sent Erich Zufreur. Him and Celestalis wore heat resistant suits and entered the ship to disconnect the energy power core. In the meanwhile, Realcov new Ceo Mira Kamiguwa sent a droid to spray foam on the crashed ship and had all the boxes of chemicals in exchange. The fire is still expanding though…..
